IN THE MATTER OF DATA TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES ON THE GOODEALS E-COMMERCE PLATFORM

COOKIE POLICY

Version: 2.0.0 | Effective Date: 05 August 2026

ARTICLE 1: PREAMBLE AND SCOPE

1.1. This Cookie Policy ("Policy") is an integral part of the GOODEALS Privacy Policy. It explains in clear and specific terms what cookies and similar tracking technologies are, how we use them on our Platform, and the choices you have regarding their use.

1.2. Continuing to browse is NOT consent. Non-essential cookies are set only after you make an affirmative choice in our cookie banner. If you dismiss the banner without choosing, or ignore it, we treat that as a refusal and no analytics or marketing cookies are set.

1.3. Strictly necessary cookies are not consent-based. They carry your session, sign-in state, and cart, and the Platform cannot function without them.

ARTICLE 2: DEFINITION OF COOKIES

2.1. "Cookies" are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device by a website's server when you access the Platform. They store small pieces of information, such as user preferences, login status, or items in a shopping cart.

2.2. We may also use similar technologies such as "web beacons" or "pixels," which are small graphic files that allow us to record information about how you browse our Platform.

ARTICLE 3: PURPOSE AND CATEGORIES OF COOKIES WE USE

We use cookies to ensure the functionality, security, and performance of our Platform, as well as to improve your user experience. Our cookies are classified as follows:

3.1. Strictly Necessary Cookies:

  • Purpose: These cookies are essential for the basic operation of the GOODEALS Platform. They are indispensable for you to navigate the site and use its core features.
  • Examples: Managing your secure login session, maintaining the items in your shopping cart during checkout, and facilitating fraud prevention.
  • Consent: These cookies do not require your consent as the Platform cannot function without them.

3.2. Performance and Analytics Cookies:

  • Purpose: These cookies collect anonymous, aggregated data about how Users interact with our Platform. They help us understand which pages are most popular, how Users move around the site, and identify any errors.
  • Examples: Using third-party analytics (like Google Analytics) to measure site traffic and improve our system's performance.
  • Consent: These cookies are non-essential and will only be deployed if you provide your consent via our cookie management banner.

3.3. Functional Cookies:

  • Purpose: These cookies allow the Platform to remember choices you have made, providing a more personal and enhanced user experience.
  • Examples: Remembering your username, your preferred language or region, and your display preferences.
  • Consent: These cookies are non-essential and will only be deployed if you provide your consent.

3.4. Marketing and Advertising Cookies:

  • Purpose: These cookies are used to deliver advertisements that are more relevant to you and your interests. They track your browsing habits across websites to build a profile of your interests.
  • Examples: Displaying targeted GOODEALS promotions on other websites or social media platforms after you have visited our Platform.
  • Consent: These cookies are non-essential and will only be deployed if you provide your explicit consent.

ARTICLE 4: MANAGING YOUR COOKIE PREFERENCES

4.1. Cookie Consent Banner: on your first visit you are shown a cookie banner offering "Accept all", "Essential only", and "Customise". The banner does not block the page — you can keep browsing while it is open, and no non-essential cookie is set unless and until you choose.

4.2. Changing or withdrawing your choice: select "Manage cookie preferences" in the sidebar of our Legal Centre at /legal at any time. This reopens the banner so you can change your decision. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and takes effect immediately for analytics collection.

4.3. What "Analytics" covers here: page-view and performance measurement, and error session recordings used to diagnose faults. Session recordings are masked — on-screen text and form inputs are obscured before the recording leaves your browser, so they cannot be used to read your personal information. If you decline analytics, no session recording takes place at all.

4.4. Browser Settings: In addition to our consent tool, you have the right to manage cookies through your web browser's settings. You can configure your browser to:

  • Reject all cookies.
  • Accept all cookies.
  • Notify you when a cookie is issued.

4.5. Please be advised that if you choose to block or reject Strictly Necessary Cookies through your browser, significant portions of the GOODEALS Platform may become non-functional.

ARTICLE 5: POLICY AMENDMENTS

5.1. We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will provide notice of any material changes.
